Is there a cost to accept it on my phone?
Yes there may be. Charges vary depending on your network / tariff and your mobile operator. In cases where you already pay for monthly internet access there may be no cost. In other cases the cost could vary between 5c and €1 (Vodafone, 02 and 3 based on data size of less than 100kb) and up to €1.70 for Meteor (based on data size of not more than 85kb). But note that this is a "once off" cost only. Once downloaded the service can be used "off line" free of charge.
Will it cost me anything to use it?
Once you download the information it is free to use as often as you like (like a game on your phone). Additional services may be available (call a taxi, share to friend etc) but if there is any phone call, text or internet use involved you will get a message to indicate this before you use the service.
How do I get the information to my phone?
Send a text message with the word matthews to 085 848 1000. Note that matthews is not case sensitive.
What happens after I text the word matthews to 085 848 1000?
A message (like a text) will come to your phone. Be patient as it may take a few minutes to arrive. Accept the message and click ok to download the system to your phone. It should take about 30 seconds to download.
Where is it on my phone?
Your phone will automatically store it on your phone (usually in games or applications). Your phone will probably allow you store it in another location if you do not want to accept the default location offered. When stored at the selected location simply go there to click and open it any time you wish to use it.

Trouble shooting
Before it starts downloading I get an error message?
• Have you sufficient credit on your phone to download? A once off charge will be
made by your service provider to download via the internet. After this point you can use the timetables as often as you like free of charge.
• Do you have sufficient memory space on your phone? You might have to delete a previous version or another application (e.g. game) to make enough space.
• Are internet settings set up on your phone? They are if you have used the internet previously. You can call your mobile operator's free help line for details on how to
do this (see below).
• If your internet settings are ok but you still receive an error message during the
download then try the following. In your web options (or similar) click on "clear
cache". Then try to download again. Note that the system is still present in your
"service inbox" (go to web options) - you should not have to text and request
service again.

The system I have received gives a code of Matthews V1.0 Jun08. What does this
mean?
This is the reference number of the system you have received. It will appear on your phone as the name used to store the system. It gives important information. V1.0 means you have received the first version (i.e. watch out for release of the new improved version V2.0). Jun08 indicates the month the system was first published. Note that if there is any planned change in timetables or new versions, we will notify you by email (if you use the registration facility in the system).
Why should I register my email address with this service?
When you register your email address with us you will automatically receive news and notification of new upgrades available for this service. We respect your privacy and your email address will not be shared with any third party.
Motorola phones
Some Motorola handsets do not actually beep when you receive the system. The message has in fact arrived in your message centre. Simply select messages from your phone menu and then select "Browser Messages". Select the system message and 'Go To' and it will begin to download.

Your can quickly call a taxi that is close to your chosen Matthews stop. Simply click and call your chosen taxi from the list provided. Whether it is a hospital visit or somewhere you want to get to easily and quickly, you can now combine the convenience of Matthews and a pre-booked taxi.
Share to Friend
Now you can share the Matthews system with friends on your contact list. Simply insert the number and the system will be forwarded to them.
